The School for Social and Policy Research was established in late 2003 and since that time has developed a comprehensive research agenda dealing with the complex social and policy issues confronting communities in Northern Australia.
The school has a broad-ranging remit and as such, casts a wide net over the social sciences, humanities and related fields to locate first-class researchers able to contribute to its emergent research agenda.
The school aims to facilitate:
University/government partnerships and secondments from government or industry
Projects involving the movement of staff and students between the university, the public sector, business and the community
The creation of a stimulating environment in which postgraduate and early-career researchers can develop their applied and original research skills.
