The art educators at our site are involved with pioneering research in the field of art education which included semiotic inquiry, feminist teaching and research methodologies, visual culture and curriculum theory, the study of indigenous arts and decolonizing methodologies related to working with indigenous communities, holistic assessment, local and community based teaching and research involving the local Latino cultural center and the local homeless shelter, progressive teaching and research related to special needs students and interactive technology connected to arts based research.
